In his article "They 're Watching You at Work," John Peck describes this phenomenon as "people analytics," the concept that the value of a worker can be compiled into a file of data. Peck claims that data analysis tests can accurately evaluate the skills and promise of potential employees, and thus will revolutionize the hiring system and abolish bias by eliminating interviews. Companies used these tests to quickly find talented and creative employees, the same reason that people analytics is being used for today. Providing the foundation of people analytics not only supports his argument by proving that the idea has worked brilliantly in the past and will work in the future, but also discredits opposing views. App based games are the largest pieces of evidences that Peck uses in his argument, showing that data analysis absolutely benefits employers. He quotes Guy Halfteck, founder of a start–up gaming company called Knack, saying that the game collects data on the player and results in a "high–resolution portrait of your psyche and intellect, and an assessment of your potential as a leader or innovator"(100). Peck provided this quote to strengthen his main claim, which is that people analytics is highly beneficial to employment. Peck also introduces Hans Haringa, the executive of Royal Dutch Shell 's GameChanger unit, a team that paved the way to Shell 's innovations.
