A Interview With A Band 2 Mla Position At Microbiology...


On Wednesday 16th November 2016 at 09:30am, I was interviewed in Lorraine Bolton's office (Head BMS), for a Band 2 MLA position in Microbiology department at Royal Preston Hospital. The panel members included Dawn Dixon (Senior Band 8 Team Leader), and Caroline Stubbs (Senior Band 7 BMS). This was my 4th interview for a Band 2 MLA position within the Microbiology department at Royal Preston Hospital. I was initially invited to attend the interview on Friday 11th November, but I was on annual leave on holiday abroad from Thursday 3rd November and was due to return on Sunday 13th November. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...I immediately contacted Helen Williams (UNISON representative) and Paul Wilkinson (Band 8 Manager) via my personal Email and notified her of my situation, and how desperate I am not to miss out on this opportunity. I also mentioned how I am fully trained on all the benches in Virology, and feel more than competent to undertake this job role. On several occasions, I have received positive feedback from my Senior Colleagues and Manger Paul Wilkinson with regards to my practical laboratory work.

On the day of my interview, I was anxious because of the contact I made with UNISON to re–arrange the interview date for me. On the conclusion of the interview, I was asked whether I have any problems working during the hours of 8am till 8pm. I replied absolutely not. Dawn further investigated asking if I previously volunteered to work those hours. She then exclaimed that someone has told them I cannot work those hours. I then explained that there was one occasion where I was asked whether I can come in at 08:00am till 16:30pm, but due to my ill–health I was not able to do so. My normal working hours were 9:30am till 6pm.
