The question is what distinguishes a great leader from a good leader. I knew this question can be answered if I dig deep and get a solid understanding of the secret mantra behind great leadership. I achieved this by studying the leadership of five of the greatest Management Gurus of my time. These leaders made significant contribution across different industries and impacted the world through their management of people and Organizations. My picks were 21st century CEO's – Jack Welch, Allan Mulally, Howard Schultz, Jamie Dimon and Richard Branson. My studies, found one common thread among them which was they had a high degree of emotional intelligence. A great leader has to posses a significant amount of emotional intelligence to inspire and steer the team to achieve exceptional results. EQ enables them to inspire trust and build credibility with their people, have a clear vision, identify strengths of the team and unleash it to the fullest extent.
