Al Capone was one of the most ruthless and successful gangsters of all time. He spent most of his life running organized crime rings and killing off rivals. Al Capone's life is one filled with an unexpected childhood, an incredible rise to power, a successful career, a bloody massacre, and an epic downfall. Capone's childhood was a typical one no one would expect from a terrible gangster. Capone was born on January 17, 1899, in Brooklyn, New York to Italian immigrant parents. ("Al Capone Biography."
