Alcatraz Descriptive Writing
Alcatraz; just the name sends cold chills into everyone's spine. A tiny island in the middle of the large pacific ocean. Not your typical tropical island with nice beaches and waiters walking around with food and drink in their bright white uniform, ready to serve you. This one has a rocky shore with cold water splashing on it making the horrific sound of death. The screaming noise of a fast wind adding to that is not something anyone ever wants to hear. Morning mist rising from the ocean everyday trying to swallow the whole island is no pretty sight for a prisoner. An island from prisoners can see the beautiful city of San Francisco with its bustling life and sparkling lights while their own life is stuck in dullness and darkness. A pathetic ... He gained some confidence because he could actually do something. The thugs who hung out with him marvelled at his skills; some even wished that they had his talents. The unwanted kid in school was now a beloved mentor; that made it easier for his brain to forget that the marvelled activity was actually illegal. His aspirations now grew big and he started planning grander schemes to impress his buddies. He decided to leave this small town and expand his illegal activity in a bigger city. In the end he boarded a greyhound, that too in a sneaky way to avoid paying for the bus ticket, and ended up in Portland, Oregon. LJ could not contain himself as he was finally out of his bug infested home and free to do a lot of stealing, which he had a talent for. Right away this LJ found himself in a bad crowd, a gang called the House Snatchers. He was a novice but learned the trade quickly and moved up the ring quickly. There he met Crosby Banker, Gordon John, and Doro Hechter. Each one of them already had a story worth writing a book on their own. They were older than him and took LJ under their wing when they recognized the potential benefits he could bring to their team. That was when LJ really started to turn into a master
