On September 1, 1939, Nazi Germany began what would be later known as World War Two. After the Axis invasion in China and in parts of Europe during World War Two, the Allies began to push back. One way the Allies pushed the Axis back was the Allies were going through Africa to the boot toe of Italy to capture Italy. Another way the Allies fought back began on D–Day when America and Britain pushed their way into France from Britain and at the same time, the USSR had been fighting the Nazis and began to take back their land pushing toward Germany. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...The Americans began to regain control of Japanese– controlled islands. One group of soldiers went south by Australia and began to push up. Another group began to push east, toward Japan. Then, President Franklin Roosevelt died in office, leaving Vice President Harry Truman to decide how to make Japan surrender. Truman then met with the Allied leaders and sent a message to Japan asking them if they wanted to surrender or face utter destruction. The Japanese decided not to surrender and America dropped the first two nuclear bombs on Japan. The Japanese then surrendered, bringing the second World War to a close.

The Allied powers in World War Two had a great problem on their hands. They had to stop the Axis powers from taking over more of the world. The Allies had four different fronts to attack the three main Axis countries and they finally overthrew all three. Even with the war over, the effects and the advancing Cold War were far from over.
